Welcome to Tae-Hee Lee‘s research group in the Department of Chemistry at Penn State. We probe the structure and dynamics of the nucleosome, chromatin, and related enzymes at a single molecule level to understand how they contribute to the mechanisms of gene regulation. We currently study the effects of chromatin modifications on nucleosome and nucleosome-array dynamics and the mechanisms of transcription regulation. Below is an experimental setup we employed to study the spontaneous DNA opening motion at the nucleosome termini.
