Another one down! My fifth week here at Penn State was a blast. Although it seemed like I was everywhere around campus cramming in studying and getting on top of my work, I still found time to have some fun. One thing that I really liked about last Friday and this Wednesday was the case studies and student led lectures. I really enjoyed being able to present the things that we worked on and hearing what other people presented. Not only did I like the fact of presenting, but the physical material that we were speaking on was very interesting. I never thought that in college we would be learning about things like Dortio campaigns or Spotify. Nevertheless, I thought it was a really cool experience and it also helped me get a little closer with some of the classmates that I don’t usually work with.
One thing that I am very excited for is the final video that we get to create. After Professor Nichols showed us some of the ones from the past, I became very eager to start creating my own. Since then, I have been outlining and brainstorming ideas for my final video and cant wait to see it come to life.
Something that hit me this week was that the semester is coming to a close. It seems like just yesterday I was walking into my empty dorm room nervous. I had no idea what to expect but boy am I glad that I came in the summer. I have had the opportunity to meet so many new people, have all sorts of different experiences, and learn a ton of new material. On a side note, I cannot stop thinking about football games for the fall. Everything has seemed to go by so fast but when I look back, I have a brain full of great memories with my friends and classmates. Since being here, I feel that I have grown in to a much more mature man. I have learned how to delegate time for different assignments, stay ahead of my work, and manage my money, which I am most proud of. I found out that if I budget my money by week, I will find myself spending way less than before. However, I feel that all of these problems that I encountered in the previous weeks were essential to learn and grow from them.
Overall I am very proud of myself and the way that I was able to adapt to his new lifestyle of living. I feel like 4 years is not enough for the amount of fun that I am having at the moment and I can’t wait to see what Penn State throws at me next.
