And there it is! My last week here at Penn State for the summer is coming to a close. As I look back on my summer, it seems that my mind is only filled with positive memories. I have met so many friends and all around great people that have made my stay here much better. One person in particular is my roommate. I wasn’t aware that you could choose a summer roommate so I went random and I turned out to become best friends with my roommate. We study together, play games, get food and most of the daily activities we do is together. I’m glad that we were able to create such a nice bond so that we both had a person there who could help us with whatever.
This week so far has been incredibly fun. One thing that I got right to this week was starting my final video for COMM! I went and rented out another camera and I really look forward to seeing my finished product. I have spent weeks capturing cinematics and other types of shots and I feel that I will do a good job putting this all together. I am also glad that I will be able to look back on this for the rest of life and I think that it is pretty cool that we had to document our summer. I know that my friends and family from home will also really enjoy the video and it might help me explain when they ask me how my summer went.
It’s crazy to think that the summer is almost over when it seems like I was moving 9in just yesterday. I have learned so much about media and speech in my classes and I think it will definitely have a lasting effect on me for probably the rest of my life. I got to learn about the basic skills that are used in the world of media that help me understand the way the industry works and what it is powered by. I have also sparked many interests throughout my learning here and possibly found out what I would like to do after my years here at Penn State.
Although I am super excited to go home, I will always remember this summer. All of the lessons that I learned and the mistakes I made were so important to my overall growth here as a Penn State student. I look forward to making more memories, friends, and anything that the fall semester has to throw at me.
