Transitioning from any job or industry is difficult and challenging. Transitioning from the military into the business world however involves unique challenges. Fortunately, the veterans’ Continue reading

Veterans MBA Conference 2019

By Bobby Ettorre, MBA Class of 2020

One of the greatest challenges facing Veterans who transition from the military service into the private sector is a lack of business acumen. Speaking from personal experience, when I left the service, I didn’t know how to communicate my work experience to recruiters and was unfamiliar with the professional recruitment cycle. I remember being completely lost at my first career fair; figuring it out as I went along. Continue reading

Pulse Entertainment and Sports Conference

How to Get the Most out of a Career Fair

By Benedetta Piva, MBA Class of 2019

Career fairs: the arenas which thousands of students attend to compete for just a few minutes of face time with the recruiter from their dream company. It surely isn’t easy to stand out in a packed room where the only tool you’re really given is the map of the booth location of hundreds of companies (most of which you have never heard about).

The key in this kind of environment is knowing what it takes to distinguish yourself from the crowd. You’re probably saying: “easy to say, but hard to do!”. Continue reading
