Positive Energy

Positive Energy is a student run sub-committee of the Penn State Society of Petroleum Engineers. Positive Energy’s focus is on environmental service and STEM outreach. Our organization is open to any and all majors to further diversify the all-encompassing energy landscape.

We recognize that it is more critical now than ever before to take care of our planet and our communities.  Positive Energy is a resource and tool for positive impact.  In the words of James Cameron, “All energy is only borrowed, and one day you have to give it back.”  Positive Energy completes the cycle by taking time away from providing abundant and affordable energy to the world, and instead energizing communities through volunteering and fundraising.

Some of the events which this organization sponsors include highway cleanups, and tree planting events. Additionally, the Positive Energy organization is involved in school visits where we explain the importance of the energy industry to students and answer any questions which they have. We are always looking for more opportunities to give back to our community!

For additional information or to plan a cleanup or outreach event, feel free to contact our Positive Energy chairpersons, Garrett Moyer and Gino Colavecchia.
