Sojung JungCurrent Interests: Sojung is interested in the improvement of transition skills for students with developmental disabilities,  especially  how to improve their functional life skills and communication skills in community based settings. Currently, Sojung is exploring the effect of an intervention that uses handheld technology to support improve functional life skills and communication skills for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and complex communication needs.

Background: Before starting the doctoral program, Sojung worked for over 5 years as a special education teacher in South Korea, working with students with intellectual disabilities and ASD.  She received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Pusan National University in South Korea. During her graduate program, she researched transition skills (cooking skills) for high school students with disabilities through the video peer modeling.
