Theoni Mantzoros

Theoni MantzorosTheoni Mantzoros, M.Ed., is a doctoral candidate in Special Education at The Pennsylvania State University.
Her research interests include utilizing the science of applied behavior analysis to implement interventions for automatically-reinforced problem behaviors, teaching new vocational skills, and transitioning learners with autism into community settings.  She currently works with her advisor, Dr. David Lee, on decreasing inappropriate vocalizations and increasing task engagement for adolescents with autism.
Prior to the Ph.D. program, Theoni worked at schools for individuals with disabilities (ages 3-21) for 14 years as a paraprofessional, teacher, and then behavior specialist.  In her last role, she implemented behavior intervention plans for severe problem behaviors while also training classroom staff on reducing problem behaviors and increasing appropriate skills.
