Jonathan’s ASA San Diego presentation (“Perceived annoyance of Mach-cutoff flight ground signatures compared to common transportation sounds”) received a Technical Committee on Noise Best Paper Award!
Matthew Neal, former SPRALite having recently acquired his Ph.D. in Acoustics, began his post-doc at the University of Louisville on November 11th 2019. His new position is working with Dr. Pavel Zahorik in the Zahorik Auditory Perception Laboratory.

SPRAL alumni Molly Smallcomb – who did an REU with SPRAL as an undergrad, and came back to the Graduate Program in Acoustics for grad school and joined the BASiL lab – was recently interviewed about her experiences in acoustics (including SPRAL) and an article was written! SPRAL welcomes Zane Rusk, as a new acoustics Ph.D. student! Zane graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2018. Just before joining SPRAL, Zane traveled to Taiwan for 10 days.
Welcome to Jonathan Broyles who joins SPRAL as a M.S. student in acoustics! Jonathan recently graduated in May 2018 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. During this past summer, Jonathan worked as an intern at a structural engineering firm.
