The 1st Symposium on Research Methodologies in the Big Data Era (SRMBD 2016)
State College, PA, USA, May 13 – May 15, 2016.
SRMBD 2016 organizing committee cordially invites you to participate in the 1st Symposium on Research Methodology in a Big Data Era (SRMBD 2016), to be held on May 13 – May 15, 2016 in State College, PA, USA.
Research methodologies in both hard and soft sciences has co-evolved with the development of technologies. Recent advances in technologies including Big Data, Cyberscience, Internet of Things (IoT), immersive Virtual Reality, and Unmanned Vehicles have been not only impacting our everyday life, but they have changed research methods in academic communities. Prompted by the nature of new technologies, emerging research methods from different fields of disciplines have shared common characteristics in the process of designing experiments, collecting data, processing/analyzing data, and interpreting results.
The main objective of SRMBD 2016, an international symposium, is to provide a forum for transdisciplinary discussions on current status and future directions of research methodologies in various disciplines of social and natural science and engineering. Focused themes of SRMBD 2016 are (big) data analytics, computational methods, and experiment design associated with advanced technologies.
