The second Bad Batch trailer brought us more insight to what we might see on the show. We now know that former clone commander Rex, ruthless rebel Saw Gerrera, and a mysterious new character named Omega will make appearances in the first season of the series. We also know the Bad Batch will eventually be on the run from Tarkin and the Empire, it is just a matter of what will trigger their rebellion. Here are a few questions to ask after watching the second Bad Batch trailer:
- When will the Clone Wars actually end?
Most people would say the Clone Wars ended when Darth Vader assassinated Viceroy Gunray, Wat Tambor, Poggle the Lesser, and other Separatist leaders on Mustafar, before ordering Trade Federation ships to shut down all droid units. However, the latest trailer clearly shows Separatist remnants and operational battle droids after Vader’s order. Additionally, even though several key figures were eliminated on Mustafar, members of the Separatist Parliament remained. According to a Wookieepedia article, the Antar Atrocity was an event where Tarkin performed arrests, executions, and massacres against the people of Antar 4 for supporting the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) during the Clone Wars. Supposedly, the CIS capital of Raxus Secundus surrendered to the Empire after the Antar Atrocity. The Bad Batch Season 1 will show us if one intimidating event such as the Antar Atrocity ends the Separatists once and for all, or a full invasion of Raxus will be needed to end the Clone Wars. A few moments in the trailer appear to show a planet that looks like Raxus Secundus.
- What in the Galaxy is a V-wing?
You may have seen V-wings escorting a crippled Darth Vader to a Coruscant medical facility in Revenge of the Sith, or you might have used a V-wing to dive bomb Separatist cruisers in the original Battlefront II. However, what exactly is a V-wing used for in Star Wars canon? The V-wing was rarely seen in the Clone Wars series, but we did get a glimpse of V-wings flying over Kamino in the second Bad Batch trailer. Hopefully, this means we will finally get to seen these cool ships in action, so we can learn if they are used as an interceptor, a dive bomber, or a combination of both.
- Who is Omega?
Perhaps your biggest question after watching the latest Bad Batch trailer is, who is Omega? Omega is the young blonde hair child on Kamino who seems to know a lot about the Bad Batch in the trailer. Most people are assuming Omega is a special clone, perhaps the very last clone to be produced on Kamino. It is certain after watching the trailer that this new character will work very closely with the Bad Batch as they are on the run from the Empire.
