STEALTH represents Sleep, sTress, and hEALTH. The overall research mission of the STEALTH lab is to improve sleep and decrease stress in order to support health. Specifically, we are interested in examining the interplay between sleep and stress in relation to diverse health outcomes (e.g., chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, and cognition). Another line of our research focuses on the role of daily activity diversity in healthy aging.
STEALTH lab is committed to excellence in student education. STEALTH lab members get experience with data collection (e.g., ecological momentary assessment, sleep polysomnography/actigraphy) and participant interaction. There are also opportunities to learn advanced statistical methods, academic writing for publications, and conference presentations, as well as opportunities to have fun and get to know diverse groups of people across disciplines and research sites. STEALTH lab members pursue PRIDE (Productivity, Responsibility, Independence, Diversity, and Equity) in research.
