“Getting Started with Designing VR for Online Learning” – A team of faculty and instructional designers, in partnership with faculty from the University of Puerto Rico, are creating 360 video for use in Biology, Spanish, Environmental Science and Geography courses. The project is part of the initial phase of a campus- wide Virtual Reality Initiative inspired by an undergraduate First Year Experience project. Designed for use in online and flexible hybrid courses at a small Penn State commuter campus, The videos will be available as Open Educational Resources. In this session we will discuss student, administrations and donor support, the design process for creating the 360 videos, and future goals of the VR campus initative.

“Augmented Reality (AR) in the e-Learning Environment” – John will provide an overview of multiple AR applications and examples of STEM use will be discussed. This relatively new technology can help students learn better independently, can increase student performance, and can provide students with a more enjoyable learning experience.
