RCL #2 – It’s What I Do Pt. One

Ever a nomad, Addario certainly has had her share of once in a lifetime experiences. Although she clearly portrays herself as both spontaneous and hedonistic, Addario simultaneously appears very strong and decisive, which is abnormal considering the transient lifestyle she lives.

I believe that Addario’s inclusion of Nana’s love story is more strategic than anything else. Prior to mentioning the fleeting love of her grandmother, she mentions her own shaky potential romance with Uxval, ultimately making the reader a tad skeptical about her ability to enter into a serious romantic relationship. However, it is obvious that Addario is not incapable of loving. Her love for the art of photography is affirmed time after time, and certainly never comes into question in Part One. This is where the fleeting love stories really come into play: because she appears almost incapable of romantic love, her true passion for photography appears even stronger. Ingeniously, really, Addario compares her passion for the lens as greater than what many consider to be life’s single greatest passion – the passion for love.

Although I haven’t exactly found something I love more than life itself just yet, watching a good movie gets me pretty close. Since the second grade, Harry Potter has been one of my closest friends and I’m nowhere near ashamed to admit it. I’ve watched each film countless times – in order of course – and every time I’m finished, I always find myself royally pissed off that my Hogwarts letter didn’t come when I turned eleven. Regardless of age, though, I find myself totally lost in the wizarding world every time I watch, which, to me, is really something special that not every movie can do. Through my weekly passion blogs, I want my readers as enthralled in my selections as I am by Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I want people unable to move away from the screen, totally locked in and hype to see what I think are some of history’s most worthwhile movies.
