March 23, 2017 – Student Affairs Trivia Lunch
Vice President Damon Sims emceed the event wearing a ridiculous get up, provided tons of laugh, and filled our brains with wonderfully useless trivia and facts. Categories included entertainment, food & drink, sports, and Penn State history. For photos from the event, please visit the Gallery page.
The team that won the trivia contest was Clueless, whose membership included Cassie Rosas-Carson, Sara Becker, Becky Calfe, Lesley Jackson, Barbara Holmes, Laurie Verost, Ashley Citarella, and Matt Ishler.
The team that won the fundraising contest was CAPS Cares, whose membership included Paul Carswell, Jason Yoder, Kate Staley, Mary Anne Knapp, Brett Scofield, Desiree Howell, Stephanie Stama, and Claire Cowen.
In total, ten teams participated and $1,106.75 was raised.
November 28, 2016 to December 23, 2016 – Gardners Chocolate Fundraiser
To coincide with the annual United Way salary withholding campaign in November and in preparation for the holiday season, Gardners chocolate bars were sold for $1 or $2 per bar. Flavors included the Original Peanut Butter Meltaway, Salted Pretzel, Roasted Almond, Crisped Rice, Creamy Caramel, and Salted Pretzel. Naturally, the Original Peanut Butter Meltaway was the best seller. Unfortunately, we had troubles getting our supply restocked on a timely basis and many potential customers went without. As such our profits were $98.40. But now that we’ve gained insight on the process with the vendor, we will be fully stocked for the duration of the 2017 campaign.
