My name is Casey Twining and I am a graduate of the MEd Learning, Design, and Technology degree from Penn State. I am currently employed with Portland Community College in beautiful Portland, Oregon. My guiding principles of design are to build a culturally responsive, student centered learning experience, and to draw from multiple learning theories and models to create courses-a process I have learned about in the program, called Grounded Design (Hannafin et al., 1997). My most familiar mode is online learning, and as an Instructional Technology Specialist at PCC I have helped Faculty manage the new paradigm of remote learning through training opportunities, workshops, and one-on-one assistance. I believe teaching and learning can change the world and am excited to take the next step into empowering all walks of life to become lifelong learners.
