Tyler Arboretum

About

One of our leading community partners in the Sustainable Communities Collaborative at Penn State is Tyler Arboretum, which is a non-profit public garden and historic landmark. The arboretum covers 650 acres, hiking trails, seasonally operated tree houses, and beautiful exhibits of magnolias, cherries, crabapples, etc. In addition to its horticultural and educational missions, Tyler Arboretum oversees the preservation of many historic buildings: the stone Pennsylvania bank barn – Lachford Hall, the Painter Library, and 19th Century outbuildings.

Our projects with Tyler Arboretum serve to extend their education mission, so we have collaborated on events for their annual Pumpkin Days festival.
