About Me

Greetings!

My name is Jack Swab and I am an undergraduate student at Penn State in the Schreyer Honors College. As you might surmise from the title of this blog, I’m a geography major. While geography is so much more than making maps (that’s called cartography) or memorizing the names of countries and capitals (that’s called 7th grade social studies), maps are the common threads that connect geographers all together.

My passion for this blog is a natural extension of things I have been doing my entire life. Data visualization through mapping is something I did as kid (ok, all I did was draw maps of imaginary towns, but still). While I didn’t know that it would lead me to go to school to become a Geographer, here I am now!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, job offers, offers of gifts of Nigerian money for a small money transfer, or anything else at jjs5846@psu.edu
