Postdoctoral positions are available in the Tan Laboratory at Penn State to determine the structures of chromatin complexes using cryoelectron microscopy.
Our efforts are enhanced by:
- techniques to coexpress protein complexes in vivo
- techniques to reconstitute chromatin complexes in vitro
- access to Penn State’s Titan Krios and Arctica electron microscopes both equipped with Falcon 4 detectors
The Center for Gene Regulation at Penn State University is a dynamic and highly collaborative environment which includes the groups of Drs. Jean-Paul Armache, Lu Bai, David Gilmour, Scott Lindner, Manuel LlinĂ¡s, Shaun Mahony, Joe Reese, Scott Showalter and Song Tan, each with research programs targeted at understanding the molecular basis for gene regulation on chromatin templates.
Electron microscopists, crystallographers, molecular biologists and biochemists are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with cryoelectron microscopy, macromolecular crystallography and/or protein expression and purification is preferred. Please send curriculum vitae and the names and contact information of three references to Song Tan, email: sxt30@psu.edu.
Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity and the diversity of its workforce.
