Our research team was proudly invited to participate in the  TMS Conference 2024, presenting our latest breakthroughs in materials science. Students shared our compelling findings on advancing the integrity and mechanical properties of bioinspired structures through the optimization of 3D printing parameters. Moreover, they unveiled a pioneering characterization approach, offering deep insights into the complex sponges. High school students explore STEM fields at Penn State Harrisburg workshop

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — High school student Phoebe Boger has had her sights set on the medical field since she was young. But the Hershey High School incoming junior wanted to be certain, and so, she said, she signed up for the STEM Summer Enrichment Program at Penn State Harrisburg.

Penn State Harrisburg professor awarded NSF CAREER Award

 

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Fariborz Tavangarian, assistant professor of mechanical engineering in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology at Penn State Harrisburg, has been awarded a $616,000 National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award for his project “Achieving Resilience in Brittle Materials Through Bio-inspired Nested Cylindrical Structures.”

ALTOONA, Pa. — The final round of the Women in Engineering Design Competition took place in person at Penn State Altoona’s downtown campus on Nov. 13-14. This year’s theme was “Railroad Yard and Terminals.”
