Built into Tech Academy are numerous layers of assessment and feedback that allow us to measure its impact. This data also allows us to share insights with campus leadership and other stakeholders.
By the Numbers
As of Spring of 2025 Tech Academy has been adopted by 19 Commonwealth Campuses and 5 Colleges at University Park.
- Over 17,000 students have been enrolled in Tech Academy
- Students have participated as part of summer start programs (LEAP, PASSS), First-Year Seminars, and New Student Orientations
Student Feedback
As part of Tech Academy’s assessment process, we ask students to provide feedback on the mini-course, including any overall comments they have about the program.
- This was a very well set up module, and I learned and became aware of a lot that I wasn’t before hand
- Wonderfully Informative
- This course was very convenient to the new students who didn’t know what they’re doing
- I stress a lot with technology and not being able to figure it out but a lot of the information given was easy to understand
- I liked the step by step and how it walked me through the modules
- Tech Academy course was helpful to learn the basics of the new technologies we will be using this year
- I’m glad I have more confidence while using these sites
- I like how the Tech Academy was interactive instead of a bunch of reading
- I think this was a helpful and useful introductory course to use technology at Penn State (like genuinely, not being sarcastic here).
- I’m more encouraged to explore the various sites Penn State has and uses now than I otherwise would have.
- I like how the modules forced you to actually try out all of the apps/resources rather than just read about them
- This course was shockingly useful!
- Coming from a small town high school, the resources accessible at Penn State are very encouraging
- The Tech Academy was way more helpful than I thought it would be and consisted of content I didn’t expect
