On Friday, 5/17/2013 between 5am-7am, the EMS-Enterprise Events Management Systems will be updated.
https://reservations.psu.edu will be down momentarily during this time period.
The staff in Student Affairs (HUB, RL, PRCC, CERA, UHS), Arts & Architecture, and the Libraries who have the client installed on their machines will need to have the client updated before using EMS. The desktop client rollouts will start after 7am on Friday. Please contact your appropriate departmental IT staff if your desktop client has not been updated by 8:30am on Friday, 5/17/2013.
If you try to use the previous version of the desktop client you will most likely receive an error notifying you that an update is available. If you don’t receive an error when you open EMS, please check the versions before proceeding:

The automatic rollout of the new client version to each EMS user machine started by 4pm and will continue through the weekend.

The EMS (Events Management System) update has completed.
The client updates – for those of you who have the EMS client installed on your machine – will be completed throughout the day. You’ll be able to tell by clicking on your shortcut and looking at the dates under the General tab. If you do not have an updated client, you’ll receive a message when you open EMS Client.
“New Client software is available. You are not running on the latest client version. Contact your EMS Administrator for instructions to upgrade your EMS client software.”

The EMS database and VirtualEMS site (https://reservations.psu.edu ) have been updated to the latest version of 6.0.
If you are an EMS Enterprise client user, you may receive the message about a new version of the client (the one you use from your desktop/laptop) being available.
You’ll receive this until your machine has been updated.
Here is the schedule:
Student Affairs is going to roll this out over the weekend (started Friday around 4:45pm)
University Libraries is going to roll this out on Tuesday.
A&A is going to roll this out whenever Scott Lindsay pushes the button.
Housing and Food Services will roll this out per Sean Curling’s schedule.
