We are proud to announce the addition of Mr. Doug Heller (sophomore) as our new technology intern for the TeleSchool Psychology Team! Mr. Heller is majoring in Security and Risk Analysis: Information and Cyber Security in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. He has extensive experiences with robotics and computer programming and will be lending his skills to our Social Media and Information Dissemination Project with student investigator Nikki Breeden. Specifically, Mr. Heller will be working under the supervision of Dr. Hall and Dr. Nick Giacobe in developing code and protocols to obtain information from social media sites in order to better understand the dissemination and sharing information related to school-based interventions for a variety of problems and concerns. We are looking forward to working with Mr. Heller and continuing to grow our Social Media and Information Dissemination Project!
Our team is also excited to announce the addition of a graduate assistant, Ms. Charishma Soni, to our team. Ms. Soni is a doctoral candidate the School Psychology program in the Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education Department. She graduated in 2012 from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, minors in Neuroscience and Music, and Certificates in Leadership and The Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. After graduating with her undergraduate degree, she joined the Teach for America corps to teach in Northeast Ohio-Cleveland. There, she served as a Founding Second Grade Teacher at the first replication school of a high-performing urban charter model. In her graduate school career, she spent her first year taking additional advanced coursework and developing personal research interests in the measurement of character strengths in school-aged children. Currently, her research work focuses on exploring multiple theories of persuasion and how they might be utilized in the creation and presentation of video e-Learning presentations for parents of children with Autism such that they promote positive learning outcomes.
