Amber McCreary

McCreary6Amber’s research pertains to the synthesis and characterization of different 2D materials, including graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD). Her work has mainly focused on the growth and Raman characterization of boron-doped graphene (that was shown to have ultrasensitive gas sensing properties for toxic molecules such as NO2 and NH3), studying the effects of strain on the optical properties of few-layered MoS2, and the optical characterization of a relatively new TMD called ReS2, which has very low symmetry and interesting properties depending on the orientation of the crystal.
