Elections and Voting

General Election Information

As defined by the Constitution, the President/Co-President of the Association is elected annually by members of the Association to a maximum of two terms. The rules and regulations regarding elections and voting is governed by Articles XI. Voting and XII. Elections and Terms of Office of the Constitution.

Elections are held annually during the last month of the spring semester or over the summer months no later than 30 days before the start of the fall semester.

The task of regulating and organizing elections is vested in the Secretary of the Association as the ex officio Electoral Commissioner or, under circumstances where the Secretary of the Association is seeking the Presidency, the Special Electoral Commissioner who is appointed by the Secretary of the Association.

There are no specific qualification requirements for the Presidency other than the General Body membership requirement.
