Welcome to the Allen Behavioral Lab (nicotine dependence, addiction, and treatment) led by Sophia I. Allen, PhD! This lab was established at Penn State College of Medicine and is affiliated with the Department of Public Health Sciences. Dr. Allen hopes to foster an inclusive environment in the lab where everyone can reach their full potential as independent scientists. The lab’s research interests focus on substance use (nicotine) and addiction among African American individuals who smoke and improving the impact of mobile health (mHealth) interventions on smoking cessation to reduce health disparities.
