Interested in joining us?

We are an interdisciplinary research group at the intersection of civil engineering, computer science, and historic preservation as it pertains to diagnostics of existing infrastructure. Students will study how convolutional neural networks, physics-based modeling, and cyber-physical systems can be utilized to adaptively reuse existing structures in a world moving towards greener infrastructure and smart cities. Current research initiatives include the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for infrastructure inspection, the fusion of nondestructive evaluation for multi-modal documentation, hybrid analytics to create digital twins, and augmented reality for synthesizing disparate data sets.
