Welcome to the Club Showcase where every week we highlight one of the many extraordinary clubs you can join as a Penn State Behrend student. Today, we are focusing on the Pickleball Club. To learn more about this club, let us go to our discussion with club president and founder Cody Jaconski.

What is the name of your club? (and nickname if you have one)

“We are the Penn State Behrend Pickleball Club.”

Does your club have a mission statement? What are your core values?

“Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America. We as a club want to give the opportunity to teach the sport to new people while also offering competition within our meetings.”

What is the most significant thing your club does on-campus?

“We host weekly meetings to hone one’s skills. These meetings give you the chance to meet new people who value sports like pickleball. Students have the chance to learn, improve, or refine their pickleball skills.”

Do you have any upcoming events currently planned? If so, what events and when?

“We host weekly meetings on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. They are in the new Erie Hall on court 3. Keep an eye out on Behrend sync for more updates.”

How can a student get involved with your organization?

“Search “Penn State Behrend Pickleball Club” in Behrend Sync and join there. Also, you can contact the President (Cody Jaconski @ cjj5538@psu.edu) or the Vice President (Alex Schlarp @ acs6465@psu.edu) with any additional questions.”

And that was the Pickleball Club. If you are interested in joining, make sure to reach out to Cody or the rest of the club’s E-Board for more information. We will see you next week for another installment of Club Showcase!
