On Friday, March 29, at State College, Penn State University kicked off the three-day “We Are the World” weekend.
Day 1 of the weekend consisted of multiple events, such as showcases with performances from the students including dancing and singing, displays of posters and artwork, and free food.
Saturday followed with a Penn State campus meet-up with students from all of the different branches of Penn State. Participants were divided into two separate groups based on the students who will be transferring in the fall and the students who may be considering making that change in the future.
There was free breakfast and lunch, a tour of the main buildings on campus, clubs, and information on your specific major.
Lastly on Sunday, the day’s main focus was for the international students and how they should prepare themselves for the move to UPark. This involved information that they may need, such as housing and transportation to make their transition go smoothly.
This three-day weekend’s main goal was for students to interact with one another, meet new people, get familiar with the campus, gain some new information and just have fun.
