Welcome back everyone to my blog! This will be my last post so we are going to make it a great one, with that being said lets get started!

Last week we ended with Lana Grubs freaking out on John B for being in her house with the compass and screaming at him to get out.

After Lana Grubs screamed at John B to get out of her house he left respectively. After this happened, the show pans over to the rich side of the island which is where we now meet 5 new characters….and they are Kels, Topper, Rafe, Rose, and Sarah! During this part, the boys are just talking and stumble across Sarah having to climb over wires to get a little girls stuffed animal she lost and everyone was yelling at her to get down because they thought she would get electrocuted which she ended up pranking them that she did and she started laughing. Wheezie, which is Sarahs little sister was telling Top(Sarahs bf) that she is going to end up cheating on him….

Fast forward, back to the chateau with The Pogues, JJ is explaining to Kiara and Pope what happened at Lana’s house. They were discussing what the guys looked like that shot at them when they were riding through the marsh in a previous episode. JJ is convinced that the way Lana was screaming that these guys are serious trouble and cannot figure out why they want the compass so bad. Now they are going into JB’s dads office to try and see if they can find any clues as to why people are willing to kill for the compass. While searching, they discover that in the compass there is the word “Redfield” engraved into the top and now they are trying to figure out what that means. As John B was looking through drawers in the office, he looked up and realized that someone pulled up to his house and alerted all of the Pogues that someone was there.  The people that pulled up to the house was the guys that shot at them previously. JJ tried grabbing his gun but they were blocking him from getting there. These guys were in the house tearing the whole thing apart trying to find the compass, luckily the pogues were able to escape before getting caught. The guys ended up stealing a bunch of stuff from the house in attempt to find the Royal Merchant. The Pogues were hiding in with the rooster and were being loud which ended up in them almost getting caught again but luckily they did not…

The guys ended up leaving and now The Pogues were in for a whole new adventure

Now this is where we will wrap up and I will be leaving it up to you guys to guess what happens/finish off the rest of the series!

Welcome back everyone to this weeks blog! Just a little recap of last week, we wrapped up episode 1 with John B finding his dads compass in Scooter Grubbs Compass and were left on a very intense cliffhanger of what was going to happen next, so with that being said let’s start episode 2! 

Episode 2 begins with the main focus being on John B sitting in a hammock talking about how weird it is that somehow his dead dads compass managed to get back to him and how living in a state of denial is overrated. John B is convinced that his dads compass managing to get back to him after being passed down through generations is a sign his dad is still alive and that he is going to find him. While he was forming all of these thoughts, he was on his boat to return the scuba gear he stole from his boss and ran into a new character we haven’t talked about yet and her name is…. Sarah Cameron!

But we will talk more about her later as she becomes more relevant. Sarah was threatening John B that she was going to tell her father that he stole their scuba gear and returned the tanks empty. After all of this, JJ and John B get in his van to head over to Lana Grubbs house to figure out some more information about this compass since her husband was the one who had it. When they arrived to her house, they heard a lot of banging around inside the house so John B and JJ decided it was best to hide alongside the house debating if they should go in or not, they ended up not going inside because they had no idea what was going on. The banging around in the house eventually stopped and as they were sitting outside the 2 guys that came stumbling out of the house were the 2 guys that were chasing The Pogues through the marsh shooting at them so they made sure that they could not be seen by them as they were driving away on their boat.

After John B and JJ knew they were in the clear, they went inside to check on Lana to see if she was okay and they found her in the bathroom on the floor crying because of what just happened. John B asked her what those guys were doing inside her house destroying the place and she said they were looking for something that she did not have so John B decided to pull out the compass and show it to Lana asking if that is what they were looking for. Lana started to freak out screaming at John B saying that he should not have a hold of that compass and that he needed to get out of her house now if he is going to have that compass with him.

Last week we left off at JJ and John B about to get caught in the motel room they broke into. JJ and John B ended up never getting caught because they jumped out the window and hid alongside the window hiding from the police. The two police officers Deputy Plumb and Victor Shoupe were investigating the motel room to try and find evidence as to who it belongs to. While investigating, officer Shoupe discovered the safe with all the money in it and took some money for himself and gave some to Deputy Plumb as well. JJ and John B were watching from the window and when they saw them take the money and gathering everything else in the motel room they began to have suspicions of corruption going on with the authorities. What lead the two officers to search this motel room was that there was a man named Scooter Grubbs who went missing during the hurricane and he was staying in this motel for some unknown reason.

Later on within the episode, Scooter Grubbs body was found in the marsh and word was spreading quickly throughout the town that he was found dead and the marsh was shut down which resulted in a massive search to try and find his boat. The Pogues all knew where Scooters boat was and they went out onto the marsh to go back down and search his boat while the marsh was closed off. While they were out on the marsh, John B was scuba diving under the water and the police boat came over to talk to the Pogues to tell them that the marsh was blocked off for a search and told them that they needed to get off the marsh and report if they see anything back to the police. While all of this was going on, John B ran out air from the scuba diving gear and could not breathe but the police finally drove away on their boat and John B came back up and reported what he found in his boat. In scooters boat there was a bag that had a thermos in it with a compass wrapped up in a cloth, they thought nothing of the compass until John B saw something engraved in the back of the compass and he noticed that this was his dads compass which managed to get back to him even though his dad is dead. The Pogues ended up boating back to his house and on the way back this second boat starts following them even though the marsh is closed and the people on the other boat starting shooting at them but in order for The Pogues to get away, Kiara. threw a fishing net and got the other boats propellors stuck in the fishing net which made for the perfect escape.

Episode one, The Pilot

My last post was all about introducing the characters of the show. But this week I am going to be sharing a recap of everything that happens in episode one. This first episode when it was released everybody was raving about it which is the reason why I started watching this series to begin with.

In the beginning of episode one, it begins with The Pogues hanging out in a house that is currently being built. John B was standing on top of the roof with a beer in his hand obviously drinking while underage. ten The police showed up to chase the crew out of the house while trying to catch them but they end up all getting in their van and driving away while messing with the security guards. After they escape the security guards, John B gives the full run down to the audience about how life is in the OBX. He talks about how there is 2 different types of social classes within the island which is the working class and the neglected which live on the south side and the rich people who live on figure 8. He gives a basic description of all of his friends and says that he lives on a chateau on the marsh.

He inherited the Chateau from his Dad who disappeared 9 months ago at sea looking for an abandoned ship wreck, but he remains confused on the idea of people just going missing at sea. His uncle is supposed to be his legal guardian but does not live with him or check up on him. John B was about to be emancipated as a minor and put in the foster care system, but a hurricane ended up hitting the island resulting in his foster care assessment being delayed. Due to the group being all together, they went and surfed the surge of the hurricane and mid surfing John B looked up and saw a boat fighting the aggressive waves of the storm.

The next day, the crew got on the HMS Pogue and went to fish for crabs since the storm pushed them all into the marsh. While they were on the way to their destination, John B’s boat crashed onto something unknown under the water. They decided to get out of the boat and explore what they crashed into which was the boat they saw last night while surfing, inside the boat they discovered a motel key. The motel key led to a person who was claimed as “missing”. Inside the motel room was a bunch of personal belongings, JJ and John B opened up the safe and found thousands of dollars. After this happened, someone within the motel called the police which resulted in the two of them almost getting caught.

I am going to leave you guys on a cliffhanger as to what is going to happen.

Welcome to Outer Banks, Paradise on Earth. Today we will be introducing the characters and describing what the show is about!

The first character in the series we will be talking about is John B. His full name is John Booker Routledge within the series but outside of the series his name is Chase Stokes. John B is one of the main characters in the show. He is the leader of his group called the “Pogues”. A little information about his character within the series: he is 16 years old living on a small island in North Carolina called Kildare Island. He lives by himself on a chateau on the Marsh because his dad went missing searching for a missing ship. Him living by himself gives him the opportunity to do what he wants as he has no parents, no rules, or any responsibility. That is all the information I am going to give on John B and now we will move onto the next.

The character we will be talking about now is JJ Maybank. Outside of the series his name is Rudy Pankow. JJ is also a member of The Pogues. A little information about his character within the series: He was brought up from a long line of fishing, smuggling, surfing, and living his life off the water. He is John B’s best friend since they were in elementary school. He lives in a crappy home with his abusive dad because his mom left him when he was younger. The best way to describe JJ would be: he is short tempered, erratic, and there are several times within the series where he does not think before he acts which leads to him getting in trouble throughout the episodes.

The character we will be talking about now is Kiara Carrera. Outside of the series her name is Madison Bailey. Kiara is also a member of The Pogues and is the only girl within the group. Information about her character within the series: She is a hippy mixed with a little bit of a socialist and is definitely one of the smarter ones within the group. She was brought up in a rich family but does not agree with the way her parents live and would much rather spend her time surfing and saving the turtles. She has a very funny sense of humor and a big taste for going on adventures.

The character we will be talking about now is Pope Heyward. Outside of the series his name is Johnathan Davis. Pope is a member of The Pogues and is known as “The brains of the operation”. He is incredibly smart and has a scholarship opportunity. His goal is to become a coroner after he graduates college. Out of all the Pogues, he is the one to think about all possible consequences that may come with what they are doing.
