I guess this kind of thing starts with introductions. My name is Collin M. Heckman and I have been writing poetry since 2016 or 2012 or 2008 depending on what you classify as poetry. Since 2012 I have developed an obsession with the particular style known as spoken word. For those unfamiliar with spoken word it is a style of poetry that is intended to be spoken aloud as the name suggest. The form allows the emotions of the poem to be expressed in the expressions and voice of the poet as well as the words. This blog is designed to follow my journey with poetry as I share my work for the first time. Each week I will be posting a poem (and/or a video of my reading of it) as well as my analysis of my poem.
