3.1.1 parallel Universes
CHAPTER 8 — Visual Principles
Hierarchy in the art represents a relationship between two elements, a dominate one and Subordinate one. The main object or event is given “focus”, while the subordinates rely on and modify or supplement the emphasized characteristics.
Scale and Proportion in the art means how the artist use the different reference near the object to create a different feeling on the object’s size. The can usually create a interesting contrast to the object.
CHAPTER 14 — Metaphors to Sculpture
There are four methods are used in Sculpture:
Plus: Add more small elements on the main object to create more detail and texture.
Minus: Carve the main object from a bigger material to create a interesting shape.
Combine: Combine two different objects or lots of same objects to form a new object.
Mixture: Use two different material mix together to create more variety of the object.
3.1.2 LinkedIn Learning
Through the learning video, we can learn the basic usage of the Replicator and how to use 3D printing.
For Meshmixer, we can learn how to make adjustment to the result scanned from the 3D scanner.
3.1.3 Alternate realities
This is a historical time-line shows the change of the art form. From people trying to use painting to recreate real life (Realism), to the form that thing just cannot exist in reality (Surrealism). After the camera came out, the artists start to recreate what camera can see, more 3 demonical picture (Photorealism). Alone with the improvement of Photography and camera, people can create highly detailed image that only camera can see (Hyperrealism), but that is not enough. People even try to create something that is not exist in a photo or video (CGI). With the hardware improvement, people can render those CGI into real time when see through the camera (Augmented reality).
