Library Support Options in Canvas
What can librarians do in Canvas?
Librarians can help in a number of ways with your Canvas course! Setting up a consultation meeting with your liaison can help you negotiate what the best options are for your goals within the course. Some things we can do to assist are:
- Embed a customized Course Guide designed with you to help students locate resources for their research, develop research skills, and more! Check out some example course guides here.
- Develop and embed Canvas modules related to research skills to help students develop their information practices.
- Lead discussions about various research topics. We can work with you to design and lead specific discussion topics related to various information literacy skills.
- Serve as a resource for student questions regarding research. Either through an in-class session, a mention in your syllabus, or a directive in class, students can be instructed to contact their librarian through Canvas with questions regarding their research.
- Help link to specific content students need for their course – streaming videos, databases, websites, specific content for required readings, and more!
