What Drives Me?

I am driven by challenges. I like to stay busy and always challenge myself to improve, learn and accomplish new achievements. I want to continue to learn though out my lifetime. There is always so much to learn through apps, videos, and all the technology that we have today. whether I am putting effort into growing personally, through fitness or creating good habits, or professionally, though learning new skills and networking, I always have goals that continue to keep propelling me forward. One thing that I have learned is to do things that scare me. Many people never reach their goals because of fear, fear of losing, failing, or making a mistake. You cannot let fear hold you back from the challenges that will test you while reaching for your dreams.

Why I love my Major.

I like that my major challenges me to work with the community, work on real-world projects, use student organizations to gain leadership experience and to constantly think outside of the box to solve problems. Every day I am challenged to go outside of my comfort zone to work with new projects, take different approaches, and to work with new people. My major challenges me to use minimal resources to get the most for the people in my community. My major also teaches me that the skills that I have learned are not just for getting a job. The skills that I have learned can be used for non-profits, to help rebuild my local economy, and to create sustainability.

What do I enjoy outside of school?

My non-school passions show that I am a community-oriented person. I like to be able to donate my time and energy to give back to the community that I call home. I enjoy being able to give back to my community. While doing so, I also get to teach my children how to give back. I want to teach them that life is more than just making a living for themselves, but about trying to make a difference in the world that they will someday be raising their own children in.
