Walkney Rocks the Jaffa Benefit for Altoona Community Theatre

Walkney Rocks the Jaffa was a senior project of the 5th Class of Sheetz Fellows. I was a junior at the time. I worked 25 hours on the day before, the day of. and the day after the show to help set up equipment, sell tickets at the door, and tear down the equipment. Altogether, the project raised $15,800 for ACT and got Walkney, a local, band, the local recognition they needed to make it bigtime. Walkney was listed on MTV as an “Up and coming band.”

Dreams Go On Therapeutic Horse Back Riding

Dreams Go On provides therapeutic horseback riding sessions to adults and children who are physically challenged, receive mental health, behavioral health or family therapy services. Each year they hold a trail ride at Canoe Creek State Park. Here we walk with the riders, move tables, set up tents, and raffle tickles.

Girl’s Night Out fundraiser for Breast Cancer

Girls Night Out is a fundraiser for breast cancer research and care. The annual event fills the Jaffa Shrine basement with women for a fun night that also benefits other women. Two years in a row, I have worked the photo booth, helping girls choose props and make memorable selfies.
