In my day job (for the past 22 years!), I’m editor of The Penn Stater—Penn State’s alumni magazine. My other passion is travel. And travel hosting. And travel writing. And travel photography. I’ve led trips, blogged about trips, written magazine columns about trips, and accumulated a portfolio of travel and wildlife images. I was pretty stoked when, in the first competition I entered—Images 2016, a juried exhibition affiliated with the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts—one of my travel photos not only got into the show, it was judged Best in Show. Aaaaaannnnnnd then I got brought back down to earth the next year, when none of my photos was even accepted into the show. Ditto in 2018. Ah well.

I’ve done a number of presentations on travel photography for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, for alumni reunions, and at retirement communities. And I now can say that I’ve lectured on photography on a five-star cruise ship.
