TLT Impact Award

Annually celebrating the work and accomplishments of Penn State faculty members whose work transforms education through technology.

About the Award

In 2016, Penn State’s Office of the Vice Provost for Information Technology established the TLT Impact Award. This award recognizes faculty members for excellence in teaching and learning with technology. Achievement can be one noteworthy contribution or a series of contributions over time. Award winners shall have a demonstrated history of developing projects, courses, collaborations, or scholarship that innovate with technology and that have the potential to significantly improve teaching, learning, and scholarship at Penn State and beyond. Of particular interest are original approaches or outcomes that have implications beyond one specific academic area.

The award will be made at the discretion of the faculty review committee, which may choose to grant one award, no award, or multiple awards in any year.

Goals

To raise the awareness of exemplary faculty efforts in teaching and learning that result in uses of technology that have the potential to significantly improve teaching, learning, and scholarship at Penn State and beyond.

To acknowledge and celebrate faculty whose work has significantly impacted teaching and learning.

To encourage innovation in teaching and learning with technology.

To improve the quality of, access to, and scholarship of teaching and learning with technology.

To have been selected by my peers as an innovative teacher who has contributed to the greater good at Penn State is one the highest honors of my academic career. Penn State is filled with creative, daring, and driven teachers who make impactful teaching their mission and I am honored to be among them.
