Pets are the perfect companions in life. They (rarely) betray you, they love to cuddle, and they’re just the cutest things ever! For me at least, my life wouldn’t be the same without my pets. I grew up around dogs, but slowly convinced my grandmother to let cats into the house (and she regrets it every day).
The common debate — cats vs. dogs — always sparks thought for me because dogs are everything I know, but I just love cats! They are the purr-fect pets, and they are so fun to play with. I have two cats of my own, Muffin and Delilah. We got Delilah back in January of 2017, which is when I convinced my grandmother to let us have one. She was a late Christmas present, and she has brought quite the CATtitude with her. Despite her being so cute and fluffy, she is MEAN! I know she doesn’t do it on purpose — cats “attack” as their way of playing — but her claws are super sharp and she often leaves scratches all over me. But I still love her, and — when she is in a good mood — I love to cuddle with her! She has fluffy, medium-length fur and she has these beautiful gray, brown, and white tones on her.
Muffin is quite the CATastrophe. She has the face of an angel, but she is crazy! She doesn’t play/hurt as much as Delilah, but she loves to run around and play “tag.” By tag, I mean she will hit you with her paws CONSTANTLY, but she won’t scratch. One day in 2020, I was leaving my house to go somewhere when my neighbor came running up to me with this little baby kitten (Muffin) in a box. The kitten was very sick, hurt, and dirty. She was found under a car and my neighbor couldn’t take care of her. As I’ve mentioned, my grandma HATES cats, so I didn’t know what to do. She let the kitten stay for a few days so we could take her to the vet and get her feeling a little better. But I quickly got attached and BEGGED to keep her. I kept her in a little bites box for a few days — until she grew more fond of me — and that’s where I got the name Muffin from. Plus, I feel like she has the colors of a chocolate chip muffin. I don’t know. She’s my purr-tner in crime and I don’t know what I’d do without my little Muffy!
Bonus Pet: Not a cat, but my boyfriend is a pretty hefty task to take care of too. He’s one of the girls.
I also have two dogs which I will be making a post about soon 🙂 Now here’s my question to y’all: CATS OR DOGS?? PLs share your pet pics with me!!!
Loved the pun! This post made me miss my cat back at home. However, to answer your question, I would have to say dogs. I think cats fill a role similar to a stuffed animal, while dogs make a great companion. I have two English labs at home, one is a chocolate and the other is a red. They are both around 6-8 months old.
I love the story of how Muffin got her name! So adorable. My roommate and I were just talking about how badly we want to get a college kitten next year. I have always been a dog person, but my best friend from home has THE SWEETEST cat and has convinced me I want one in the future.
