Daniel Roberts competing for Team USA at the World Athletics Championships in 2019.
In His Own Lane
Not many athletes can compete with the résumé of Daniel Roberts. Not only has he been successful at the collegiate level, he has been present at numerous international championships, including the pinnacle of a track athlete’s career: the Olympics. Since he was in college at the University of Kentucky, Roberts has had to compete head to head with Grant Holloway, one of the greatest 110 meter hurdlers of all time. Despite losing to Holloway multiple times, Roberts has continued to prove himself time and time again as dominant in hurdling at the domestic and international levels.
Success Unmatched
From the University of Kentucky to the professional world of track and field, Daniel Roberts has seen nothing but success. After his time at Kentucky where he constantly battled with Grant Holloway who was attending the University of Florida at the time, he eventually would become a professional athlete and represent Team USA at not only the World Athletics Championships, but the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well. Before these Games, he would qualify alongside Holloway and Devon Allen at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Some of his most prominent finishes include being a national champion three times and placing third at the World Championships. From Hampton, Georgia to having a Nike sponsorship, Daniel Roberts definitely established himself as one of the best American 110 meter hurdlers in recent history through his outstanding performances over the years. With the outdoor season just beginning, Roberts has the opportunity to continue to use his talent to not only be dominant on the track, but an inspiration off of it.

A Goal on the Horizon
With as hard as Daniel Roberts has worked to achieve his accomplishments on the track, he is undoubtedly finished. With a successful season last year in 2023, Roberts is definitely eyeing the 2024 outdoor season as a springboard into the Paris Olympics this summer. After only placing ninth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Roberts will surely return with something to prove. Hopefully the friendly rivalry between Roberts and Holloway can push them to share the podium this summer. It’s athletes like Daniel Roberts that help others to realize they don’t have to be the best in their event or sport, but that they should be dedicated enough to continue to improve time and time again.
