Joseph Fahnbulleh competing for Liberia.
One of One
If you are a fan of the University of Florida’s track and field team, it is almost certain that Joseph Fahnbulleh has been mentioned. One of the most successful products of the Gator’s program under Coach Mike Holloway, Fahnbulleh has demonstrated incredible talent on the track for the past few years. Running under Coach Holloway in track and field is similar to playing under Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski in basketball. Both are extremely well known in their respective sports for their achievements – Coach Holloway has achieved 13 NCAA national championships so far, and has even been the head coach for USA Track and Field at the Olympics in 2020. Due to Coach Holloway’s interest in him, Holloway made good on his promise to bring the young star to greatness. With his tall nature and thick build, at first glance it may not be immediately assumed that Fahnbulleh runs competitive times on the international scale in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 4×100 meter relay.
Two-Time Olympic Hopeful
After qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Fahnbulleh is undoubtedly aiming his talents at traveling to Paris in 2024, which would be his second Summer Olympic Games. Fahnbulleh’s reputation precedes him, as he is a three time NCAA national champion and even placed in the top eight at both the Olympics and the World Championships – just to name a few of his accomplishments. With the 2024 outdoor season slowly exiting its early stages, Fahnbulleh’s season is shaping up to be successful as he prepares for a possible trip to Paris in the coming summer months. Recently at the Florida Relays, Fahnbulleh’s 4×100 meter team placed first, and even set two records as well as a world lead in the event. The team consisted of Fahnbulleh, Grant Holloway (who placed second in the 110 meter hurdles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics), Erriyon Knighton (high schooler turned professional), and PJ Austin (former University of Florida sprinter) – they ran a blazing time of 37.67 seconds!

Sprinting Toward the Finish
Joseph Fahnbulleh has truly made an impact on not only the University of Florida and Liberia, but on the track and field world as a whole. As Fahnbulleh continues to make strides in his career on the track, the world can’t help but sit back and watch as he does it. Fahnbulleh is a force to be reckoned with, and if it isn’t apparent already, he has the speed and power to break even more records in the future.
