Motivation: Amelia is a nurse whose only goal is to help take care of the sick and injured. Soon a terrible outbreak hits the tunnels and she is left to care for the patients by along with a few other doctor and nurses. She has to look out for a cure before it’s too late.

Story Development: Amelia and her family traveled to New York when she was just a baby. Before making it to New York, Amelia and her family became very ill. One night the family fell asleep, holding each other, and by the next morning only Amelia was alive, but just barely. Amelia was taken to New York and made it just in time to a doctor who took her in and raised her as one of his own. This doctor was well known and as she got older, Amelia became his apprentice. By the time the ice age started to come, Amelia left New York for Philly because of the lack of medical needs due to everyone traveling to more “richer areas”. Amelia soon met a doctor named Dr. Beaumont Liston. At first, put off by his craziness and cocaine use, Amelia decided to stay as his head nurse. During her time with Liston, Amelia met Elizabeth, a young girl from the upper class and began a friendship with the girl and told her stories of life before being underground and what the lives of the poor was really like. At one point, a deadly disease hit the lower class. With no known cure, Dr. Liston left with “the stranger” to find a cure but never returned, leaving Amelia in charge, much to the displeasure of many due to being a woman.
