Kenneth Lee

Ken is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine (PSUCOM) and is co-Director of the PSUCOM cryo-EM facility. He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Toronto. He obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto while working with Frank Sicheri on the structural biology of protein kinases, nucleases and RNA. He received his postdoctoral training in ion channel biophysics from Roderick MacKinnon at the Rockefeller University. Outside of science, he enjoys various hobbies including music, reading, cooking and exercise.

 

 

 

Sydney Drury

Research Technician

York College of Pennsylvania, B.Sc.

Sydney received her B.Sc.in Biology from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked with memory T cells with Martha Jordan and exhausted T cells with John Wherry concurrently at the University of Pennsylvania prior to joining the Lee Lab. When she is not in the lab, she enjoys gaming, making unnecessarily fancy meals and annoying her cats.

 

 

 

 

 

Jessica Weidner

Jessica is a Senior at Penn State majoring in Genetic and Developmental Biology. Her research interests include autoimmune and neurological diseases. She hopes to learn more about protein design and membrane transport dynamics in the Lee Lab. When she is not in the lab, she enjoys doing running, crocheting, and traveling.

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin Zheng

Undergraduate Researcher

Kevin is working on his general biology B.Sc. at Penn State. He is currently in his second year. His scientific interests lay in anything related to human disease, particularly those related to age, nutrition, or substance abuse. As an undergrad he hopes to learn as much as possible whether it be theory or lab techniques. His long-term goals are to contribute meaningfully to research and to help contribute to discoveries that could lead to curing or preventing human diseases. When he is not in the lab or university, he enjoys video games, weightlifting, and cooking.

 

 

 

 

Samantha Fogle

Samantha is currently a Junior at Penn State University majoring in life science. Her research interests include immunology, and virology. She hopes to learn more about protein structure and determining function. Her long-term goal is to cure autoimmune conditions such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Outside the lab, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing frisbee.
