Donations

What You Can Donate

We’ll take any usable item you don’t want. Just make sure it’s clean—and that it works.

For example, you can give us:

  • bedding (quilts, sheets, blankets, pillows)
  • clothing
  • carpets
  • toys
  • athletic equipment (skis, baseballs, tennis rackets)
  • computers
  • printers
  • fans
  • light fixtures
  • appliances (coffee makers, irons)
  • electronics (TVs, CD players)
  • furniture
  • food (canned goods and other nonperishable items)
  • cleaning supplies

Remember, these are only examples. If you don’t want it, chances are someone else will.

If you live on campus, look for drop-off details in your residence hall or apartment complex at the end of the fall and spring semesters. Volunteers  will sort through your stuff, give any food items to the local organizations, and put everything else up for sale.

This is a cooperative effort between Penn State and the Centre County United Way. Proceeds benefit local health and human service organizations partnered with the Centre County United Way.

Where You Can Donate

We will accept donations at the end of the fall and spring semesters. Look for signs in your residence hall or apartment complex for details on where you can drop off your donations—or ask at any commons desk.
