In my lab we are working on:
- We study the synaptic regulation of vagal brainstem neurocircuits regulating autonomic functions in pathophysiological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, stress, necrotizing enterocolitis and acute pancreatitis.
- We use a multifaceted approach that combines patch clamp electrophysiology, opto and chemogenetics, immunohistochemistry, 13C breath test, and in vivo techniques to investigate the pathophysiology of vagal neurocircuits and the agents that may be used therapeutically.
