Our 2019 panel was a massive success! So many questions were sent in by our audience that we actually ran out of time in the end, but our panelists did a wonderful job and giving each question the professional advice it deserved and offering countless resources and information for our audience members to help them solve or learn more about their questions. Our panel involved 3 guest speakers: Dr Jill Wood of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department, who specializes in Biobehavioral Health and Women’s Health, Dr Hilary Malatino of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department and Philosophy department, and Shannon DeHoff of the gender equity center. Our speakers were tasked with answering anonymous questions posed by our audience members about health, sex, relationships, or any related topic that they believed these professionals could answer. The panel was organized by our Executive Service Chair, Jordan Smith, with help from the rest of our executive members.

The panel included questions like “How can I keep past sexual trauma from interfering in future sexual encounters?”, “How can I offer support to loved ones without becoming their therapist and risking my own self care?”, “What are ways that I can prevent a UTI if I am prone to getting them?”, and “Is it bad that I do not get aroused easily?” Our panelists offered excellent advice, with tips such as not using floral bath products to avoid UTIs, and referring friends to professional counseling when you spot symptoms of emotional or mental issues.
