As a graduate student in START since 2018, Alexander Wildgoose has just been recognized with a NASA Pennsylvania Space Grant Fellowship for 2019. Prior to arriving at Penn State, Alexander completed his BSME at Rowan University where he published several conference and journal publications. Since arriving at START, Alexander’s research has been expanding our understanding of the effects of roughness induced by additive manufacturing on heat transfer and pressure losses in microchannels. His work is at the leading edge of helping gas turbine companies, in particular, develop correlations for the roughness effects. It is Alexander’s intention to complete his doctoral research in START.
