After 13 weeks of endless studying and many late nights, this week mark when we we all crawl back hime more some much needed family time, filled with amazing food, and good times. Nothing is better than having an amazing meal with the people you love, and unwinding from the stress of school. If you are anything like me and my family, we like to get dressed up for our thanksgiving meal, allowing my sister and I to take optimal Instagram pictures, and my mom to keep the memories we make each year. Whether your family like to dress to the nines for your meal, or keep it comfortable and casual, these three outfits are sure to be perfect for the holidays!
I Have My Life Figured Out, I Promise
With extended family comes the overwhelming questions of “How are your classing going?” and “What do you want to do when your done?” Though the questions are well meaning, they always through me off, and definitely make me a bit overwhelmed when I’m meant to be taking a break from school, even if for just one day. I’ve notice that by looking put together, people often assume that you are. Putting forth an air of confidence, everyone will think that you have this college thing down, even if you don’t really have it all figured out! I paired a white turtleneck which will keep you nice and cozy all day. I choose this red corduroy skirt to incorporate the autumn color scheme. I paired it with a choker and some brown boots. The overall outfit is still plenty comfortable to go for those seconds, and thirds at dinner.
Chill and Cozy
Whether its a bit more chilly than usual, or simply wet to be more comfortable when enjoying the day, this outfit is perfect. The black jeans go with everything, and give you a more polished look than just blue jeans. The top has really nice embellishments, that I thought went really well with fall foliage, and played into the theme. I chose this coat, because it is still warm and cozy, but its cut makes it look more polished. Tailored jackets like this can be thrown on over almost anything, and elevate an outfit instantly. I paired the whole thing with some black booties, that are comfortable, while still being cute. This look is perfect for a relaxed thanksgiving with your family, whether you decide to go for a short walk to look at the leaves, or all snuggle up on the couch to catch the Macy’s parade
Food, Food, Food
Ultimately, the holiday is al about being with your family, and of course all the amazing food. Now is the time to capitalize on endless amounts of really good home made food. In order to consume the maximum mashed potatoes, and stuffing, leggings become extremely helpful. Staying comfortable ensures no matter what the day brings, you will be ready to jump on any family adventure that ensues, without ruining your best pieces. I choose this Penn state shirt, because even when you aren’t on campus, you got to stay repping. The fuzzy cardigan will keep you toasty, and will effectively cover up any food baby you may develop! I toped the look off with some converse and a choker to complete the look. This outfits is really easy to put together, and all the pieces are versatile and most likely already in your closet, making for a no stress look.
Not matter what your break plans may be, I hope that one of these outfits will serve you well, but most importantly I hope you guys have a great break! Make sure to enjoy your time with your family and friends, and of corse your home cooked meals. See you in a week!
