The Best Stadiums In The World

Football stadiums are always some of the best places to go to, be it to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow fans or the great game or the equally-great food and drinks. There are so many stadiums that players dream of playing in because of the atmosphere that they can generate. There are many stadiums on my own bucket list that I would love to go to as they have some of the best fan culture and experiences. I would like to list two of those on my bucket list.

The first stadium I would recommend every football fan go to is the Westfalenstadion, the home of Borussia Dortmund, who play in the German First Division (commonly known as Bundesliga). The yellow and black stadium is world-renowned for its excellence in design and creating an electric atmosphere. The yellow wall (pictured below) is famous for creating large noise throughout the whole match and the home team can always count on the Yellow Wall for encouragement. Also, another reason why I would love to visit the Westfalenstadion is due to the cheap tickets. The tickets for the home games are some the cheapest amongst the 5 major European football leagues.  All in all, this stadium is a gem to visit and is highly recommended if you’re looking for crowd intensity and an electric atmosphere.

The second stadium I would always recommend is the Old Trafford Stadium, home to Manchester United, who play in the English Premier Division. The Red Brick is home to one of the most famous teams in the world and it is to no surprise that fan base is largely energetic and supportive of the team. The intensity that the fan base shows day in and day out is brilliant. The stadium is also very well built as it incorporated a lot of the technologies back in the 2000s that only now are being considered as standards. The stadium also has a great museum and a VIP experience that is unlike anything else. The fan base is mainly made up of local people who show up to the games every time and always let their feelings known. If someone is playing badly, they berate them with some of the most creative songs ever thought of. If the crowd is loving, then they show that love. This stadium is a must-visit if you want to experience a local fan base that aren’t afraid to sing for 90 minutes straight and let their voice be heard.

The fans at Old Trafford always show the highest level of sportsmanship and love to pay tributes to the greats of the game.

The third stadium that I’d love to be in is the Maracana, by far the largest football stadium in the world. It is one of the most famous stadiums in the world as it hosted some of the greatest international football matches such Brazil vs Uruguay 1950 or even the most recent World Cup finals. This stadium’s shape gives the sound a larger resonance area, thus allowing you to feel the noise no matter where you are. The crowd that come for the games are highly passionate about the game and they always love to create a great atmosphere. This is another stadium that you should visit if you want to experience Latin American football crowds at its best.
