What is the difference between trogloxenes, troglophiles, and troglobites?
The difference is how much time they spend in a cave. Trogloxenes are cave “visitors” who live most of their lives outside of the cave. Troglophiles live inside caves, but sometimes visit the twilight zone, entrance zone, and outside world in search of food. Troglobites spend their entire lives inside caves.
You find a creature at the entrance of a cave. We know it is NOT what kind of cave dweller?
A troglobite. Troglobites never leave their cave.
