Penn’s Woods has long served as a stage for historical progress in conservation and stewardship. Chief actors on that stage have blazed trails, creating seats at the table for any Pennsylvanian who cares about forests – including, and importantly, you. Our campaign has come to an end and we are thankful for your support of Walk in Penn’s Woods – so that we and our hosts across the state are better able to tell the tale of those that have gone before and ignite passion in the next leaders of natural resource conservation and forest stewardship. On behalf of the Walk in Penn’s Woods partnership, thank you. To find a walk near you, visit our “Where are the Walks Happening?” page.

Forest to Faucet – 2021 Walk in Penn’s Woods
Water is pretty important to our lives; would you say so? Well, if you answered yes, that means that forests are also pretty important to our lives too! Forests are filters; they clean our water and ensure that we have a supply of fresh and safe water to drink and use each day. Support Walk in Penn’s Woods and help us teach folks across the state about the engineering marvel that is forest filtration – and don’t forget to stay hydrated! Biota on the Block – 2021 Walk in Penn’s Woods
There are some new kids on the block and they’ve got the right stuff. Okay, so there are no Wahlbergs involved, but there are trees! Trees on the block, or surrounding homes and businesses, provide huge energy, economic, and comfort benefits to us and provide structural and ecological benefits to waterways and soil in our neighborhoods and towns. Support Walk in Penn’s Woods and provide opportunities for others to learn about these really neat trees on our block. Timber! – 2021 Walk in Penn’s Woods
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Obvi- well…I don’t know…but what I do know is that when a tree does fall, in a sustainable forest harvest, it goes on to contribute immensely to our daily lives, to our economy, and to the next generation of trees who now have the room to spread their wings – or branches – and grow. Support Walk in Penn’s Woods and you will help to create opportunities for folks like you and me to learn about the important value of wood products that grow in our own backyards.
