We are excited to share our 2020 walk sites below. Our goal is to have walks happening around the state, with at least one walk in each county. We’ll also be making a concerted effort to ensure a wide array of walks accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

Below is a listing of all the locations hosting a Walk in Penn’s Woods for 2020. They are listed alphabetically by County.
Erie County – French Creek Valley Conservancy – Walks start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
Walk Address: 661 Benson Road, Waterford
Walk Description: Join Boy Scout Troop #58 and French Creek Valley Conservancy (FCVC) to walk and explore a beautiful conservation easement on LeBoeuf Creek. Interpretive walks through the woods will be led at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., highlighting this beautiful property. The terrain is moderate and mostly along the creek. This walk is not wheelchair and stroller friendly; please leave pets at home.
Fulton County – Young Forest Walk – Walk starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
Walk Address: 1906 Lincoln Way West, drive past house and up into field next to the woods
Walk Description: Join Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Forestry Service Forester, Dave Scamardela, on a walk through a forest in different stages of new growth. You will see a timber cut from 2013 and 2020. View many acres of crop tree release marked, one old log landing which is now a small wetland, bat boxes, stream, spring, and more. This walk is not wheelchair and stroller friendly. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets.
Lycoming County – Riverfront Park – Walk starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
Walk Address: Riverfront Park/Canfield Island 2898 Greevy Road, Montoursville
Walk Description: Join the Otzinachson Group of the Sierra Club on a short half mile saunter on level path through Riverfront Park. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets.
Warren County – Warren County Conservation District Area – Walk starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
Walk Address: Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area Trail Head parking lot located approximately 1.25 miles from the intersection of SR 62 and Hatch Run Road. Look for “Walk on Penn’s Woods” signs
Walk Description: Join Warren County Conservation District Staff, Directors and Partners on a maintained hiking trail for less than a mile. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets. This walk has limited wheelchair or stroller access.
Washington County – Maple Hills Tree Farm – Walk starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
Walk Address: 1185 Route 40 West, Claysville
Walk Description: Celebrate Penn’s Woods with a one mile walking tour of Maple Hills Tree Farm. Be prepared for hilly terrain. This is not a wheelchair or stroller accessible walk. People-friendly leashed pets are allowed; owner must clean up after their pets.
